Playa del Carmen Wedding Photographer | El Dorado Royale
Wonderful, heartfelt moments and occasional stormy skies were part of Brian and Meggan’s big day at the El Dorado Resort by Karisma near Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
The perfect ying and yang couple, Meggan admittedly strives for perfection (just look at the amazing details) and Brian compliments her by keeping it calm and always finding the simple solution to every problem. After dating for seven years and several more working together, they returned to the scene of their first trip to Mexico and made it special.
After agonizing over the weather, they rolled the dice and kept the ceremony on the beach. As Brian said better than we could, “I was worried about how Meggan was reacting to the rain on the day of our wedding, as it had rained all morning and we had to make the decision at 1pm to move the ceremony and/or reception. The decision was made to keep the ceremony on the beach, as we both really wanted to get married on the beach if at all possible, and it was nothing but divine intervention that the rain cleared for about 2 hours so that we could be married. This is proof in the pictures following the ceremony, and one photo says it all, as there are dark storm clouds all around, except a small area of light clouds directly above us, which I truly believe was my mother and granny in Heaven making sure our day was perfect and giving us their blessing from above.”
“Brian had never been outside of the USA prior to 2013. Knowing that he does not like to fly, I convinced him to take a long weekend trip to Mexico. I knew that I would have to impress him because if he did not like the resort, I would never get him back to Mexico. After some research and recommendations from several friends, most people recommended El Dorado Royale Resort & Spa. HE LOVED IT! We have since been back to the resort 3 times since the initial trip in 2013, including the trip in May 2015 when he proposed on the beach. We knew from the first visit that this is where we would choose to be married as we both fell in love with the beautiful, lush resort grounds, beautiful turquoise water, excellent food and gracious staff. Brian and I both consider El Dorado Royale our “home away from home” and there was never any doubt this is where we would become husband and wife.”
The dance floor was full all night and the skies parted for the perfect sparkler send-off.
Two days later, we took them around our island home of Cozumel and shot photos without the storm clouds – only beautiful clouds.
