You know being able to endure a tropical depression and more than 12″ of rain in 36 hours with grace, love and smiles is the sign that this couple will never face an obstacle they can’t handle. Juan and Carla were surrounded by family and friends from Peru, El Salvador, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Switzerland and the U.S. for their Moon Palace wedding. Dealing with a deluge is not what a bride hopes for when she plans a beach wedding, but as Carla said, “I’m OK, I’m marrying Juan.”

The getting ready rooms were relaxed, as Juan hung out with buddies and future brothers-in-law. Carla was surrounded by sisters and two adoring parents who were oblivious to the weather.

There were so many highlights. When Juan’s father sang an a cappella version of “Sunrise Sunset” from Fiddler on the Roof (in Spanish), I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room – us included. It is hard to take photos through teary eyes, but we pressed on.

If there is a group of people who can dance salsa better than Latinos, I have not met them. The reception dance floor was full the entire evening and a fine time was had by all. Rain? What rain?
