Sometimes when we receive a wedding inquiry from a bride, their comments really speak to us and we look at each other and say, “We have to do this wedding”!! Such was the case with the wedding of Deanna and Adrian at the Finest Resorts Playa Mujeres.
Let us share a little of her comments and you’ll see what we mean. Deanna wrote, “I am not a sentimental person. I did not want a big wedding. It was so important for me to keep this day very intimate and personal between our families.”
“Adrian (fiancé) donated a kidney to my dad last year. It’s funny that we met on match.com, however, he ended up being a match for my dad’s kidney when neither I, nor the rest of my family was. He means the world to me.
Looking at your pictures, brought tears to my eyes. Your work is art and you can bring out the personality of the couples. I hadn’t seen that in other photographers.”
As destination wedding photographers, we meet a lot of couples from different parts of the world and from different walks of life, but we are always looking for that great love story. We can’t think of anything that epitomizes self-less, giving love than offering the gift of life to another person. Donating a kidney to your fiancee’s father has to be at the top of the list of the power of love.
Considering that they put off the wedding until her father and Adrian both recuperated from surgery and that her parents were traveling out of the U.S. for the first time, this was a very special day.
Tears? Just a few (OK – lots) and they were all tears of joy. It was particularly hard to see through our tears to focus during their heartfelt ceremony. When Adrian and Deanna’s Dad hugged after the ceremony – well, let’s just say I’m glad I had autofocus.
Let’s not forget the dress. Pretty fantastic dress from Essence of Australia. Enjoy!
