Team M&J Photography
Meet our international team of four photographers. We are based in the Riviera Maya of Mexico during most of the winter months and then can be found in Canada, New Mexico and Colorado during the other months. We have shot destination weddings in most Canadian provinces, several U.S. states, Cuba, Jamaica and on both coasts of Mexico.
Jasmin has lived on a houseboat cruising Lake of the Woods in Ontario, hiked Mount Arrowsmith on Vancouver Island, and explored England (twice!) in an attempt to eat & drink her way through every cute pub she stumbled upon. She has completed two university degrees in Psychology & Fine Arts, and eagerly anticipates a return to academia in the future. Her scroll-length bucket list includes a trek to Everest Base Camp and touring Cooper Pedy in Australia.
Matt has island hopped Jamaica, Cozumel and Cayman Islands by cruise ship, driven across the Golden Gate bridge in California, and spent a couple of months living in Ireland, where he can’t wait to take Jasmin one day. If you find yourself in Dalkey, outside of Dublin, be sure to visit P Borza. In 2013, he graduated from the AEC Commercial Photography program at Dawson College in Montreal. The next stop on his ever growing list of places to visit is Iceland.
Together we have sold most of our belongings, twice, to move us & our cats from Winnipeg to Montreal, then from Montreal to Playa del Carmen. We have backpacked through New York City, weathered a hurricane with city-wide curfew in New Orleans, and been in awe at the beauty of the Grand Canyon. We road tripped for 10 weeks, across 6 provinces in Canada, driving over 8500km, and are eager to plan a similar road trip across the USA, as well as Mexico.
Michael has walked through much of Nepal, traveled across the Sahara with a camel caravan for National Geographic, and journeyed by bus in Uganda and Rwanda to visit mountain gorillas. While staying on a Lake Victoria island chimp sanctuary he babysat (chimpsat?) a young chimp. He wants to go diving in the Galapagos and to explore Myanmar with Jennifer (but plans to avoid horses in Mongolia).
Jennifer (flying with her husband Michael!)
Jennifer has trekked the Inca Trail and learned to scuba dive in the Galapagos. She has traveled solo up the Amazon in Peru to see dolphins, was face-to-face with a mountain lion while camping in Montana, and while traveling alone in India worked as an “extra” in a Bollywood film. Horseback riding in Mongolia and exploring Myanmar are on her bucket list.
Together we have seen flamingos in the high deserts of Bolivia, heard the muezzin’s call to prayer in Morocco, photographed the Holy Week celebrations in Guatemala, and lived in Mexico. However, few places or experiences beat camping in the Rocky mountains. We’re always planning our next photo adventure.
With 150 + weddings to our credit, you can be confident that we will provide you with unforgettable photography. In addition, we have 40+ years of professional photography experience and a combined resume that includes 5 books for National Geographic.
However, our next important assignment will be your wedding. You can get started by contacting us here.
