Holly and Randy planned the perfect wedding day: great friends, loving families, a terrific location, an amazing sunset sailboat cruise and a lovely private dinner at the Iberostar Cozumel.

Holly’s hair was done by the talented Teresa Williams of Salon Cielo, who knew Reverend Bob, the Pastor from the Church of the Living Palm. His ceremony was one of the best, with frequent references to Jimmy Buffet lyrics in the vows.

Cozumel was getting smacked with an uncomfortable SE wind and it was hot and breezy, but everyone was still cool and in a festive mood. Then we got on a Fury Catamaran for a sunset sail toward town. We loved having the reception on the boat! The staff is incredible and kept the margaritas and beers flowing. It was cool on the water, the clouds were amazing, and there was great dance music. How cool to have your first dance on a sailboat on the Caribbean.

Then  the most amazing thing happened – we were joined by dolphins!! Two swam in front of the catamaran for nearly 10 minutes, rolling on their backs and letting the cat pontoon scratch a little dolphin tummy. Everyone gathered around the front and squealed with delight watching their antics. This was a very special moment, which not every wedding gets to experience. Maybe YOU should have your reception on a sailboat??

We loved the time on the boat and we all hated to leave, but a fine dinner and funny speeches awaited everyone at the El Cedral Steakhouse.

The great thing about an Iberostar wedding is that at the southern-most resort on the west side of Cozumel there is very little light pollution. There were a few stars that night, so we ended the evening with Randy and Holly under the stars on their very own private, Caribbean beach.
