The rooftop terrace of the Cancun Beach Palace was the setting for Ali and Marlin’s afternoon wedding. Ali had a gorgeous beaded dress and was surrounded by three charming bridesmaids and her beautiful mother who we would have confused for her sister if we hadn’t been introduced. December skies were clear and everyone had been at the resort for several days, which might explain the relaxed atmosphere. The newlyweds gave us a generous amount of time after the ceremony, so we cruised around the Cancun hotel zone to some special places for sunset photos.

But, the best was yet to come. Tasty snacks at the reception and hand-rolled Cuban cigars kicked off the celebration before dinner. Everyone seemed to relax after dinner and it looked to be a quiet evening. Not sure if it was the right song, or if everyone got their second wind, or maybe it was the open bar, but this crowd DANCED!!! Once they started, it was non-stop fun and action on the dance floor.

We thank Ali and Marlin, and their wonderful families and friends, for making us feel welcome and for making us laugh – a lot!
