The Villa Bellamar in Akumal was the perfect setting for Sasa and Candace’s wedding. They were surrounded by close friends and family, who all stayed at this fabulous 13-bedroom villa on Half Moon Bay in Akumal.
The great design and styling was inspired by the bride and groom’s love for travel and perfectly implemented by Andrea of Puerto Aventuras Weddings. Kudos to Andrea, not only was the setting perfect, but the atmosphere, timing and organization was among the best we have ever seen.
Candace, her sister and both mothers looked very stylish with their hair done by Esperanza from Simple Bella.
But, let’s let Candace talk about their wedding in her own words:
“Sasa & I wanted every word and moment of our ceremony to be meaningful, so we decided to write the entire script ourselves and asked a close friend to officiate. To our surprise, he added the most beautiful poem to the script – and it couldn’t have been more perfect if we had picked it out ourselves. We also chose to have a wine box ceremony with a small twist – we will drink the wine in the box every 5 years and hope to wait until our 50th anniversary to open the letters. It just seemed to fit as we are pretty big wine connoisseurs and both fell in love with the idea of reading letters reminding of us of this day 50 years from now.”
BRIDES DON’T MISS THIS!!! Candace passes along some of the best planning advice you can possibly receive if you are planning a small, special wedding at a private venue:
“Hire a planner! I’m super organized, very type-A, and love planning an event or vacation, so I originally set out to plan to entire event myself. Being a destination event, I was quickly overwhelmed with selecting vendors and having a local connection to bounce ideas off of, especially since our schedules didn’t allow for a trip down to Akumal ahead of the actual wedding trip. I talked to Andrea for about 20 minutes on the phone and instantly decided I wanted her to help me plan our day – she saw my vision and is perhaps more type-A than me, which I loved!”
We hope you enjoy the photos as much we enjoyed being there.
